Robotics Workshop — DUOC UC Arauco
Practical introductory robotics workshop for technical students at DUOC UC Arauco. Microcontrollers, sensors and final projects built from scratch.
Problem
The Biobío region has an important technical student base, but access to hands-on extracurricular electronics and robotics activities is limited outside larger urban centers. Students arrive with strong motivation and little exposure to real hardware.
Solution
An intensive workshop where each student assembles, programs and tests a project from scratch. No exact recipes or closed kits: generic hardware, real problems and space to make mistakes and rebuild.
Process
- Coordination with DUOC UC Arauco to define scope and participant profiles.
- Syllabus design in three blocks: fundamentals, sensing/actuation and a final free project.
- Bilingual Spanish/English learning material so students can keep reading technical documentation after the workshop.
- Individual support during final projects.
Result
A group of students finished the workshop with their own working project and, more importantly, with the confidence to keep building things on their own.
