Vocational guidance chatbot for Chilean high-school students. It supports a decision without reducing it to a five-question test.
Problem
Vocational guidance in Chile is often resolved with one-session interest tests, generic recommendations and little follow-up. For a student deciding what to study, that format is not enough.
Solution
A chatbot that holds an actual conversation: it asks open questions, remembers what has already been discussed, connects interests with fields of study and helps research careers and institutions without imposing a ranking. It lives on WhatsApp because that is where students already are.
Process
- Work with counselors and students to map the questions that matter.
- Conversation flow design that prioritizes reflection over speed.
- Model selection and prompt work focused on avoiding horoscope-like or institutional brochure answers.
- Student memory system to keep continuity across sessions.
Result
It supports students in their decision process without pretending to replace a human counselor. A useful success signal is whether students apply with more clarity, not whether they simply completed the flow.
